Helping Little Ones Sleep Peacefully

Have you ever tucked your kid in bed only to have them get up right behind you?

“Mom, I’m thirsty.” or “Mom, you forgot to read a third bedtime story.”

Well, I have finally found something that seems to work on my kids, getting them to actually want to go to sleep. I simply rub a little lavender oil under their feet, then put socks on top. My 9 and 4 year old boys love it.  I don’t know if it’s the actual oil, if it’s the attention they’re getting from me, or a little bit of both.

The only oil I have ever used on my children is doTerra Essential Oils. doTerra oils are known for their purity and plus have the best education about their products (a.k.a. ME!).

If you have any questions about essential oils, I would be happy to help you!

Purple Magic Potion (hint: it isn’t voodoo)

Hi Everyone!  Cajun Teacher Chick here to tell you about some experiences I’ve had recently with doTerra’s Lavender Essential Oil. About

First off, just like all the other moms and teachers out there, I’m constantly questioning myself to make sure I’m being the best I can possibly be to my children and my students. It’s so hard to be “super” everything all the time! I know! Giving my kids, my students, my husband, and myself a fighting chance for success (in all aspects of our lives) is my main concern. That’s why I’ve joined the doTerra team and am learning as much as I can about their oils ever since I found out about them.

I’ve used the oils on myself and on a few friends already and have had lots of success so far. A few days ago, I even put some Lavender Essential Oil on a cotton ball and placed the cotton ball behind a fan in my classroom to spread the scent throughout the room. One of Lavender’s primary benefits is to help feelings of tension – it’s calming. As a teacher, calming is one of my favorite words… I’m just saying. Anyway, withing 15 minutes, I noticed the students sitting more quietly as they worked. Coincidence? Maybe, but I don’t think so.

Now don’t get me wrong, this is my 11th year in the classroom, so I have lots and LOTS of discipline strategies under my belt. In fact, I consider myself a pretty darn good disciplinarian for my students, but if having oil in my classroom will help make my job a little easier, you can bet your bottom dollar, I’m gonna use it! In fact, with state testing coming up, I’m planning to purchase a diffuser in order to better diffuse my purple magic potion (lavender) throughout the room. Diffusers disperse oils in a mist and help purify the air (an added bonus when you have a classroom filled with children!).

Another example of a time I’ve used my purple magic potion was a few nights ago. My husband was tossing and turning and just couldn’t fall asleep. I knew he had to get up a few hours later for work, so I rubbed some Lavender on my hands and massaged his shoulders and the back of his neck(very briefly, I must add). Within minutes, he was asleep. Now, I must also say, this man does not believe in stuff like this. He thinks these oils are a joke… or at least, he did… I’ve made a believer out of him VERY easily. The oils work. He couldn’t take my word for it, he had to see for himself.

doTerra Essential Oils are quickly becoming a major part of mine and family’s daily health regimen. From the calming effects of lavender to the soothing effects of Deep Blue on my aching muscles after a long run(I’ll post about that oil soon, I promise), these oils are helping us become healthier using all natural products. I believe so strongly in their benefits because I am seeing their effects before my eyes. Purchase lavender oil here.
